What is a Food Web?
A food web is two or more food chains that have a relationship with each other. That means, for example, if you take the food chain of the lichens eaten by the lemmings and then the lemmings eaten by the snowshoe hare that would be called a food chain. Since the musk oxen eat lemmings and arctic foxes eat the musk oxen, it automatically turned into a food web as there are two food chains and they have a relationship with each other since the lemmings have two predators and they are shared commonly.

Here is an example of a food web above in the picture. For example, the lichen is eaten by the lemming and the lemming is eaten by the snowshoe hare rabbit or the musk oxen. When there are two or more animals foraging for the same food, it usually results in competition. This is a fight for survival as a lot of the animals' basic needs aren't even available such as food and water. The survival problem is the effect of deforestation which is done by us to create malls and buildings to improve our life. This affects the food webs because if one animal is extinct or the population is decreasing, food chain maintains a natural balance of species on our earth, unbalance to which can result to adverse affects on our life too. If any one species in between a food chain gets extinct, the entire food chain gets disturbed and can lead to extinction of its upper leveled species too. In this web the territorial consumer is the Polar Bear which is also found in the arctic tundra. The polar bear is in most risk. The animals that the polar bears eat are in great risk of dying out and so this will affect the polar bears at any extreme point.
